Women In Business Luncheon encourages professional development

The Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce hosted their second Women In Business Luncheon (WIB) event Thursday at the La Dolce Casa Restaurant in Tamaqua. "We hold the event quarterly and encourage all business women to stop by and network amongst each other," said event coordinator and Executive Director, Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce. "This is not an organization or club... it is a social gathering with the main purpose of providing all the hard working women of the Tamaqua area an opportunity to gather and talk about things that are important to them."

"I was very impressed with the amount of women and new faces during the event," said Judy Gordon, Customer Service and Sales Representative, Wells Fargo Bank, Tamaqua."We are new to the community and appreciate the Chamber holding this great networking opportunity," said Attorney Lori Guzick of Williamson, Friedberg and Jonees LCC of Tamaqua."In addition to social networking, this event provides women another opportunity to increase professional development," said Chastity Miller, Mauch Chunk Trust, Jim Thorpe. "Making new friends is a second benefit.""Our event also provides a venue for women to talk about topics or issues that primarily relate to women," added Yulanavage. "These quarterly luncheons will introduce local women to other areas of the community they may otherwise not have had to opportunity to learn or talk about."The Chamber's next WIB luncheon will be advertised in the TIMES NEWS, on their website (www.Tamaqua.net) and their Facebook page.
