State police at the Lehighton barracks said an assault they were asked to investigate in Polk Township ended up being unfounded.

Police said a 17-year-old female reported she was struck by her father, causing her to sustain bruises. The incident supposedly happened between 7:40-10:20 p.m. Jan. 9 at 9082 Sherwood Drive in the township.Police said the allegation of a crime having occurred was found to be not substantiated.
