Police from 6 towns called to 'robbery'

An incident Friday night in Summit Hill had police officers from six municipalities respond and several individuals taken into custody, but no arrests have been made.

The situation unfolded at about 10:30 p.m. as a "robbery" reported at a residence on East Fell Street.Police from Summit Hill were quick to respond, arriving at the scene within minutes and the alleged perpetrators were still at the scene. Immediately Summit Hill police called for assistance from Lansford and other departments.There reportedly were four or five individuals involved in the Fell Street incident. It was reported that some were apprehended inside the residence. At least one was nabbed fleeing on Hazard Street, it was reported. One of those caught in the residence was in the basement.Summit Hill police said the district attorney's office didn't approve the initial charges so no arrests were made.Police also said that the incident report hasn't been completed so no other information is available.It was stated that summary charges will likely be filed, indicating the matter was less ominous than originally reported.Responding besides the Summit Hill and Lansford police departments were officers from Coaldale, Nesquehoning, Jim Thorpe and Mahoning Township.
