The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board conducted compliance checks of licensed establishments in Carbon County on Friday, Jan. 11, between 4 p.m. and midnight.

Age compliance checks consist of using supervised underage buyers in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages.On the recent check in Carbon, six licensed establishments were checked. Two of them were found to be noncompliant, meaning they served the underage buyer alcoholic beverages.The following establishments were found to be in compliance and did not sell any alcoholic beverages to the underage buyers.They were Rivercreek, Lehighton; Failte Inc, t/a Molly Maguire's Pub and Steak House, Jim Thorpe; Sommers Inn Inc., Summit Hill; and Highland Beverage, Jim Thorpe.
