Not a main thoroughfare

Dear Editor:

We are writing this letter with the understanding that Navitat Canopy Adventure has leased 400 acre piece of property on the mountain in Jim Thorpe for the specific use of zip line. We have been told that the area leased will be approximately 2-1/2 miles off the main entrance road, Behrens Road.Since we are residents of the Sunrise Ridge Community with access to our development only through Behrens Road, we have many concerns about using Behrens Road as the access road to the facility.Behrens Road is not a main thoroughfare. It is a small side road off Route 903 and is the only access to a few communities along its route along with private homes along the route. It cannot be used as an entrance road to a facility that plans on having a large number of parking spaces over a creek that can only accommodate one car. To allow "commercial traffic" to use this road would be dangerous and an injustice to the residents of the area. And to make any changes to his road would indeed hinder the warm, pristine sense of seclusion we all came to this area to experience. We implore you to stand up for the communities at large along Behrens Road and not allow this commercial industry to invade our privacy.Thank youBarbara Stroker16 Rosewood Drive, Jim Thorpe
