Tractors ... a farm show favorite

Representing a traditional favorite of many visitors, tractors and other heavy equipment, currently on exhibit at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, serve as popular exhibits for both kids and adults. The show ends Saturday. Pictured is a 1928 "Eclipse" Frick traction engine. It burns coal or wood to generate steam. From 1900-1940, these engines were used throughout Pennsylvania on farms for general farm work and to provide power for wheat threshers, saw mills and any other work requiring belt power. They were also used to pull road graders for county roads.
