Carbon man facing drug charges

A Carbon County man is facing drug charges following police serving a warrant for his arrest.

State police at Lehighton said troopers served a warrant on Corey Rehrig, 25, of Jim Thorpe, near the intersection of SR248 and State Road, in Franklin Township, for failure to appear for a court appearance in the county court. He was stopped about 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 3.While taking Rehrig into custody police found Rehrig to have in his possession a hypodermic needle and heroin baggies.He is facing drug possession charges.In another drug incident. Troopers said Conner Purington, 20, of Saylorsburg, was found to have suspected marijuana in his possession about 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, at 221 Evergreen Court, in Ross Township, Monroe County, troopers said.
