Touchdown Booster Club

The Jim Thorpe Olympian Touchdown Booster Club will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. in the commons area of the high school. At this meeting, officers for 2013 will be elected. This includes, president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. As per the club by-laws of 2011, to become an officer, you must have attended 75 percent of the 2012 meetings, and in order to vote, you must have attended at least two consecutive meetings in 2012.Also on the agenda will be review of the December minutes and last year's finances and this year's fundraising projects.Democratic ClubThe Jim Thorpe Democratic Club will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. at the home of attorney Carol and Benjamin Walbert, 87 Broadway. Carbon County Labor Council members are invited to attend the meeting. Refreshments will be served and Edith Lukasevich will preside over the meeting.Community dinnerSt. Mark's Episcopal Church will host its free community dinner on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 4-6 p.m. a 21 Race St. The menu for this month is spaghetti and meatballs.
