The Lansford Ambulance Corps received a letter from Pennsylvania State Police Troop S, York, sent by Cpl. Andrew J. Mulerin, acting officer in charge. It commended the actions of Paul and Jane Reese, members of the ambulance corps, for assisting at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Christmas Eve in York County. The letter said, "They stopped at the accident and rendered valuable assistance to the occupants of the vehicle involved. Had it not been for their timely arrival and intervention, there my have been more than one person killed in this accident."
