A Lansford man was injured in a three-vehicle accident Christmas Eve in Rush Township.
Antonio Betancourt Jr., 30, was traveling on Tide Road at 2:30 p.m. when he lost control of his Geo Tracker, sliding into the path of a tractor trailer being operated by Michael Turchick, of Jim Thorpe. The rig is owned by Praxair Distributing.When Betancourt exited his vehicle to survey the damage he was struck by a Jeep Liberty, operated by Richard Fluherty, 23, of Elizabeth City, N.C. Betancourt was pinned between his Geo and the tractor trailer before being freed and transported to St. Luke's Hospital, Coaldale, with leg injuries.
