A Carbon County man was jailed on Monday, Nov. 18, following a domestic incident.

Nesquehoning police officer Dane O'Brien, was dispatched to 600 E. Catawissa St., about 6:48 p.m. for a report of a physical domestic incident in progress. Upon arrival at the apartment complex the officer was told by a resident that there was a struggle going on inside Apt. 3E. O'Brien approached the apartment and heard loud noises and an apparent struggle. He knocked on the door to identify himself, while doing so, heard someone yelling for help.

O'Brien then forced open the door and found Keith Roger Keeler, 44, of the residence, holding a 13-year-old male by the throat against a wall.

Keeler was pulled from the youth and taken into custody. Through the course of the investigation police determined that Keeler was under the influence of alcohol and that the disturbance was over a cellular phone.

A medical unit was called to the scene to evaluate Keeler and the youth and both were cleared of any injuries.

Keeler was then charged with simple assault and harassment. He was committed to the county prison according to the police report.
