Winter just won't go away.

With only two days before the official start to spring, Winter Storm Ukko is setting up to blast the area with yet another round of snow, sleet and freezing rain.A winter weather advisory has been put into effect by the National Weather Service for the TIMES NEWS coverage area, beginning 2 p.m. today until 8 a.m. Tuesday.It states that winter weather is expected to move into the area sometime midday, first starting off as snow before mixing with sleet and changing over to freezing rain and then plain rain tonight as temperatures begin to climb above freezing.Meteorologists are estimating that snow accumulations could be anywhere between two and four inches before the storm pulls away from Northeast Pennsylvania early tomorrow morning.As of press time today, Panther Valley, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Palmerton, Northwestern Lehigh, Pleasant Valley, and Tamaqua Area school districts; as well as Educare/Weissport and Carbon County Head Start had already announced early dismissals of all schools in the districts.Following Ukko, Wednesday brings a 30 percent chance of snow showers to the area after 4 p.m., with temperatures hovering just above the freezing mark.A slight warming trend will occur this weekend as sun is expected to return Friday, Saturday and Sunday with temperatures in the low to mid-40s.
