Lehighton Community BookSwap takes place March 15

Published March 05. 2013 05:01PM

The 9th annual Lehighton Community Book Swap will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Lehighton Area Middle School. The event is coordinated by a committee chaired by Ron Rabenold and is sponsored by the Lehighton Area Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association and National Education Association.

For this event, students and adults in the community are able to swap a book they've read for another good read.

Students are invited to drop off books to their classroom teachers and receive a ticket for the number of books they may take on March 15.

Parents and other adults may also trade their books. Adults in the community are asked to bring their books to the Lehighton Area Middle School from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 14.

If you bring one book, you may take one book; and if you bring two books, you may take two books and so on.

Food is available for purchase by the Parent Teacher Organizations.

Any books still remaining at 5:30 p.m. are available for free to take. Teachers at the Lehighton Area Middle School's are hoping everyone takes part in this project that promotes literacy and the love of reading.
