Hope, VBC sweep

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) kicked off its annual co-ed summer volleyball league on Thursday evening at Coaldale's Black Diamond Park. VBC Tomahawks-Seniors posted a three-game sweep over Anything But Net, while Victorious Secret was able to capture two of three games from Intensity.

Victorious Secret won two of three games against Intensity by final scores of 25-19, 25-15, 30-28.

Devin Parambo served 19 points to go along with seven aces for Victorious Secret. Chris Hartung scored 11 points for Intensity, including a key service run in his team's 30-28 victory in the third game of the match.

VBC Tomahawks-Srs.-Anything But Net

In a wet and rainy nightcap, VBC Tomahawks-Seniors won all three of its games against Anything But Net, 25-19, 25-15, 25-9.

T.J. O'Connor had 20 service points, including 10 aces, to lead the VBC Tomahawks. Abby Owsinski tallied five service points in Anything But Net's losses.

Hope Wreckers defeated VBC Tomahawks-High School by forfeit to gain three automatic wins on the night.
