Blue Sox split pair

The Tamaqua Blue Sox recently split a pair of games in Schuylkill/Berks Legion action.

Elsewhere, the Franklin Township earned a tie against Bushkill Township.


Pine Grove-Tamaqua

Kobe D'Agostino had two hits and scored two runs to help Pine Grove earn a 7-3 win over Tamaqua Sunday.

Wade Bressler gained the pitching win, allowing just three hits while striking out seven.

Josh Zehner had a hit and knocked in two runs for the Blue Sox (1-2). Adam Bates added a double and run scored.

Tamaqua-Valley View

Josh Zehner scattered six hits over seven innings of work to lead Tamaqua to a 2-1 win over Valley View Friday.

The Blue Sox (1-1) pushed across the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning on a wild pitch and Zehner protected the lead for Tamaqua's first win of the season.

FT Shockers-Bushkill

Anthony Rossino turned in a stellar pitching performance but a lack of run support resulted in the Franklin Township Shockers settling for a 1-1 tie with Bushkill Township.

Rossino tossed all nine innings, allowing just five hits while striking out 11.

James Farano finished with three hits, one a double, and a stolen base for the Shockers (5-1-1).
