The expanded area of Life's Second Hand Treasures Thrift Store, a program for Access Services LIFE Program, is now open after two weeks of setup and preparation.

Access Services, a non-profit organization, purchased the Tamaqua Community Center, 223 Center Street, on January 1 to be used to store and sell appliances, furniture and any other large items. Currently, it is filled with over a hundred second hand items.

Access Services accepts donations for the thrift shop daily and is able to provide tax return receipts upon request. The store's hours are Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Staff members pointed out that they also do house cleanouts and will pickup larger donations. The store's phone number is (570) 225-7116.

For more information about Access Services, visit them on Facebook or through their website www.accessservices.org.
