Theft incidents being probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating two theft incidents at Schuylkill County locations.

James Turner Jr., of Orwigsburg, reported someone took a 800-foot roll of galvanized steel, three-eighth wire, from his property at 291 Pheasant Run Road, in West Brunswick Township. The theft occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on Feb. 21 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 22.

Troopers are investigating an incident where someone cut down eight utility poles with de-energized wires, and took about 300 feet of copper wire from a site along Bear Valley Road, near Gap Street, in Porter Township. The property belongs to PPL Electric Utilities of Frackville, troopers said.

The theft occurred sometime between 3 p.m. Feb. 18 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 19.

Anyone with information concerning either incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 739-1330.
