Kidder supervisors meet

On Thursday, Feb. 21 the Kidder Township board of supervisors held its monthly meeting. After first holding an executive session, in which legal and personnel matters were discussed, the public meeting was called to order at 7 p.m.

The minutes for the January meeting were approved as well as the payment of bills in the amount of $93,979.75.Under police business, the supervisors agreed to the purchase of a new SUV for the police department. The new vehicle will replace two older vehicles.The supervisors also agreed to release a certificate of deposit at the request of the Lake Harmony Volunteer Fire Company. The fire company has met the maintenance requirements for the release of the funds.James Smith of Albrightsville was appointed to the township planning commission. His term will run from 2013 through 2016.A lot line revision for the Kinsey property was approved. The revision will combine lots 34-21-A13 & 34-21-A2.06.The supervisors also approved the tax claim bureau's sale of tax parcel 21-21-A36.In addition it was not reported that at the January supervisor's meeting the supervisors agreed to ratify the 2013-2016 police contract with the collective bargaining unit. The new contract includes a 2 percent increase in salaries.Also the supervisors set the rate of compensation for the township tax collector for 2014 through 2017. The resolution, 2013-001, goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2014. The rate of compensation will be $7,500, for 2014 and increases $150 per year through 2017.
