Lori Zehner and David Slama exchange vows

Lori Beth Zehner, daughter of Melvin and Judy Zehner of Tamaqua, and David Justin Slama, son of Marge Slama and the late J.P. White of Chestertown, Md. and David and Lorraine Slama, also of Chestertown, were united in marriage on Aug. 24, 2012 in New York City, where they reside.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She graduated magna cum laude in 2004 from Bucknell University, with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. In 2007, she earned a juris doctor from Boston University School of Law. She is employed as in-house associate counsel for a large, international construction company based out of its New York City office.The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Kent County High School, and a 2003 graduate of Bucknell University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics and history. He is employed as a vice president at Goldman Sachs.The bride was given in marriage by her parents.The wedding was a small intimate affair for immediate family in New York City, beginning with a double ring ceremony at City Hall, followed by stops at New York City landmarks, and ending with a lunch reception at The Smith restaurant in midtown Manhattan, where the couple had become engaged.The newlyweds enjoyed two weeks in the Riviera Maya, Mexico.
