State police at Frackville are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in a wooded area of Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said three individuals were on a moutain in the area of Silver Creek Road four wheeling in a pickup truck when it got stuck on some rocks. The victims said two four-wheel all terrain vehicles (ATVs) were about 400 feet away riding around.

The victims said they then heard what sounded like gun shots fired into the bushes. The three victims feared for their safety and fled the area on foot leaving the pickup truck behind. The incident occurred about 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, troopers said.

The victims were identified as Shiane Follweiler, 19, and Joseph Carroll III, 21, both of New Philadelphia, and a 17-year-old female from Tamaqua. They were not injured.
