Western Pocono Community Library needs volunteers

Published February 15. 2013 05:03PM

Those who have some extra time available may wish to consider becoming a member of the Western Pocono Community Library's Friends of the Library (FOL).

The Friends is primarily a fundraising organization for the library and is seeking to help fill some of the many needs and programs the library offers to the public and community.

Funding from the state has been drastically reduced and the FOL tries to find ways to not only raise money, but also to offer the community special events to enjoy and have some fun at the same time.

Those interested or with questions can visit on Facebook, stop by the library or call Caroline at (570) 992-0160 or Elaine at (570) 629-5234.

The amount of time donated is up to the individual, and can be just a few hours per month, or on an as-needed basis.

There is a general membership meeting every first Monday of the month at 10:30 a.m. at the library. Those interested are welcome to attend, meet some of the members and see what the FOL is all about. New faces and ideas are always welcome.

WPCL is located on Pilgrim Lane, Brodheadsville.
