Lansford declares snow emergency

Published February 08. 2013 05:03PM

Due to the possible severity of a approaching winter storm the borough of Lansford has declared a "state of emergency," effective at midnight Friday. As part of the declaration the following emergency parking regulations are to be in effect.

There is no parking for the entire length of Water St., and all of Kline Avenue.

Additional restrictions may be announced depending on the severity of the storm, including the normal restrictions to allow for curb to curb parking.

Police and borough officials ask for the cooperation of all residents so that the streets can be kept open for emergency vehicles. With this cooperation the borough's street department will be able to get the roads open for all residents as quickly as possible.

Also, it is illegal to throw snow back into the street. Violators will be cited.
