The Tamaqua Middle School Music Department will present its annual Holiday Music Program at 7 p.m. this Wednesday. The concert will be held in the Tamaqua Area Auditorium, featuring performances by the middle school sixth grade band and the middle school choruses.

The Sixth Grade Band, under the direction of Marsha Rodgers, will open the concert with "Name That Christmas Carol" arranged by Feldstein Clark. They will then play a Latin holiday piece "St. Nick Salsa."

The band closes the first half of the program with the traditional "Carol of the Bells."

The middle school General Chorus, composed of students from grades six, seven, and eight, will begin the second half of the evening's program. The chorus begins with "Jubilate Deo" by Sally Albrecht. The concert continues with the chorus singing "Heavenly Peace". The pop holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas is You" is their last selection.

The middle school Select Chorus will close the program with the traditional "Angels We Have Heard On High" arranged by Lois Fiftol. Their second selection is "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow." The concert will close with the chorus singing "Santa Baby."

Both middle school choirs are under the direction of John Buglio.

Accompanists for the middle school choirs are Antonetta Gerace, Sierra Petrucci, and Faith Roberts.

The concert is free and open to the public. Doors to the auditorium will open at 6:15 p.m.
