Blood Drive results

Miller-Keystone Blood Center's community blood drive in Palmerton on Aug. 26 drew 69 potential donors, and 63 units were collected. This included blood components on the Trima machines and whole blood donations. This visit was sponsored by the Kern and Hoffman families, in memory of Jean Behler, a longtime volunteer.

The following donors reached gallon levels: Dale Smith, 7 gallons; Donald E. Berger, 6 gallons; Mary Eckhart, 4 gallons; Christine Eckhart and Robert Kresge, 1 gallon each. There were three first-time donors.

As usual, a large number of volunteers were involved. Some performed more than one volunteer activity, or were also donors.

They included Pam Andrews, George Ashman, Mary Beth Beers, Romaine Biege, Harry Brown, Jane Cervenak, "Honey" Cyr, Mary Davison, Arlene Dombrosky, Thomasine Falcone; Linda Finley, Jean Fritzinger, Rita Goidich, Shirley Greene, Jean Halmi, Anita Harry, Betty Hartman, "Bif" Hayes, Roseann Heydt, Marian Hoffner, Susan Hunsicker, Bernice Kleintop, Nancy Kresge, Paula Lendvay, Cecelia McLaughlin, Helen Nonnemaker, Darlene Nothstein, Richard Nothstein, Carol Papay, Evelyn Plechavy, Marge Porambo, Susan Olivia, Gwen Rodrigues, Terri Sebelin, Betty Steigerwalt, Susan Steigerwalt, Mary Taschler, Annette Wargo, Tara Wargo, and Brenda Wentz.

The next Miller-Keystone community blood drive will be on Friday, Oct. 25.
