Despite cool nights, pool temperature comfortable
The Palmerton Memorial Pool reports that despite the cooler nights, the water temperature is a comfortable 76 degrees.
The last special event day of the season is Sunday. The annual Carnival Day will include free pony rides for kids, free moon bounce, and a dunk tank where you can take a chance to dunk your favorite - or perhaps not so favorite - lifeguard. There will also be a funnel cake stand, along with deep fried Oreos and twinkies.
Daily admission is reduced for all special events throughout the season.
The board of directors of the pool are providing a decreased daily admission to the pool for the remainder of the season. Anyone entering the pool that pays daily admission for the rest of this season will pay a reduced fee.
Starting today, the pool closing time will be 7 p.m. When Palmerton Area School District opens, the pool hours Monday through Friday are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Hours remain the same on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from 1-7 p.m. On Monday, Sept. 2 (Labor Day), the pool will open at noon.
The Palmerton Pool would like to say thanks to Pool Pals for sponsoring the special event days held annually at the pool.
Anyone who would like to contribute to the Pool Pals Chinese auction held at the upcoming Palmerton Community Festival may inquire at the pool office for details by calling (610) 826-5357, or Larry at (610) 349-1085.
