Police probe theft at area ski lodge

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a theft incident that was reported at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 27 at the Blue Mountain Ski Area in rural Palmerton.

The victims are Robert Docherty of Allentown, Brian Docherty of Hoboken, N.J., and a 17-year-old juvenile from Glenmoore, Pa.Police said the victims had gym bags stolen from them at the ski area and the victims' car keys were left in one of the bags. Police said the thief used the keys to open the victims' vehicle and steal luggage.In addition, stolen were $70 in cash, a wallet, several items of miscellaneous ski gear and several items of clothing. The approximate value of the stolen items is $1,500, police said.Police said the suspects are a white male in his early 20s who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, light-colored pants, tan boots and red gloves, and a juvenile, believed to be between 10-12 years of age with short blonde hair and wearing a black Monster Energy Drink hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and tan boots.Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or individuals to contact them at (610) 377-4270.
