Pocono Mountain Regional Police report they arrested Shawn Whyte, 20, of Farrockaway, N.Y., on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at 3:20 a.m. Dec. 16 at the intersection of Rt. 940 and Short Lane in Monroe County.

Police said they conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle code violation and identified Whyte and two others, Brandon Carrington, 25, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Michael Creft, 25, of East Stroudsburg, as the occupants of the vehicle.During the course of the stop, police detected marijuana coming from the vehicle and after a consent search of the vehicle police found Whyte to be in possession of marijuana and a large amount of money.Following his arraignment, Whyte was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.
