State Rep. Julie Harhart (R-Lehigh/Northampton) is making available a veteran's outreach specialist from the American Legion in Wilkes-Barre to assist local veterans with accessing benefits and services from the U.S. Veterans Administration each month through her district offices.

"I encourage any veteran in the district who is having a problem dealing with the Veterans Administration to contact the office and set up an appointment," said Harhart. "This is a great opportunity to sit down face to face with someone and receive help navigating the VA system."The veteran's outreach specialist is available the first Thursday of each month on alternating months at Harhart's Northampton or Slatington district offices. The next visit is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Slatington district office at the Slatington Borough Hall, 125 S.
