Convicted felon sentenced for carrying gun

A convicted felon arrested for carrying a gun in Tamaqua and a Leighton woman cited for selling drugs in Shenandoah were among nine people who pleaded guilty to criminal charges in the Schuylkill County Court and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin.

Travis Cheslock, 38, Junedale, theft of automatic pistol, sentenced to serve two years to four years in a state correctional facility with the sentence to begin Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Cheslock was cited by Chief Dave Mattson, Tamaqua Police, on December 5, 2011. who was acting on information received from a contact who advised the chief Chestlock was seen in the area of Spruce and Hunter Streets where the chief located him and when confronted admitted having a gun in a holster on his person. Chief Mattson took him into custody as he knew that Cheslock was a convicted felon which prohibited him under the law from carrying firearms.. It was also discoverd the weapon was stolen from a man in Frackville.Deanna K. Semanoff, 24, of 160 South Fifth Street, Lehighton, on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance in Shenandoah Borough last April and May was sentenced to serve four months to 23 months in the Schuylkill County Prison with the sentence to commence Wednesday,January 2, 2013 at 9 a.m., pay $100 to SAE (Substance Abuse Education) fund and make restitution of $226 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Semanoff was cited by the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.Damon J. Ziegler, 26, Shenandoah, criminal conspiracy to commit burglary, sentenced to serve six months to 23 months in the Schuylkill County Prison with the sentence to begin Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 9 p.m. Ziegler was cited by Patrolman Laurie Dudash, Shenandoah Police, last February 28.Amber A. Menne, 24, Ashland, forgery of doctor's prescription to obtain additional drugs from pharmacy, placed on probation three years, pay $50 to CJEA fund and a $50 monthly probation fee. Menne was cited by Chief Adam Bernodin, Jr., Ashland Police, on September 14, 2011.Jared Thomas Stessalavage, 25, Orwigsburg, possession of a controlled substance and corruption of minors, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund and a $50 monthly probation fee. He was cited by Patrolman Scott R. Davis, Orwigsburg Police, last May 29. On a charge of theft of scrap metal from Moyer's Service Station, Wayne Township, Stessalavage must serve an additional one year on probation. He was cited by Trooper Todd W. Heintz last May 15.Herbert Christopher Miller, 36, Mahanoy City, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from motor vehicles parked at Schuylkil Mall and Farilane Village Mall. A pre-sentence investigative report was requested by Judge Baldwin and sentence was deferred to a later date.Michael Edward Dillman, 30, Frackville, harassment of ex-girlfriend, Nicole Degreger, by texting 44 messages and making 64 phone calls making threats, was placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund and a $50 monthly probation fee. Dillman was cited by Sargent Marvin Livergood, Frackville Police, last March 18.Joseph David Tennant, 31, Minersville, receiving a stolen license plate, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, a $50 monthly probation fee and perform 25 hours community service. Tennant was cited by Patrolman Richard C. Clink, Minersville Police, last March 9. The plate was removed from the car of Theresa Putalavage, Westwood Street.Andrew W. Zeiders, 35, Mahanoy City, possession of a controlled substance and drug parahernalia, sentenced to serve six months to 23 months in the county prison, pay $100 to SAE fund, a $50 monthly probation fee and make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Zeiders was cited by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Mahanoy City Police, last January.
