Toy parade at Polk

Polk Elementary School students and staff collected 360 toys for Toys For Tots and held a Toy Parade, with students dropping the toys into bags, held by Mr. Kenneth Newman, principal, Ray Fitzpatrick from the U.S. Marine Corps Monroe County Pocono Marine Corps Leaque, and Mrs. Robyn Hines, assistant principal. The top three classrooms to collect the most toys were: Mrs. Desiree Kresge's p.m. kindergarten class, with 40 toys, winning a pizza party; Ms. Kilker, 27 toys; Ms. Hines, 20. For incentive to reach their goal of 300 toys, Principal Newman agreed to kiss a pig if they did. So on Friday, Dec. 21, Mr. Newman will be kissing a real pig, which the students and staff are looking foward to.
