Razed mobile home catches fire in Still Creek

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Firefighters responded to a construction site fire just before 6 p.m. yesterday along Madison Avenue in Still Creek, located north of Hometown in Rush Township. Firefighters arrived to see scraps of construction debris and the remains of a mobile home on fire. The burning construction debris was scattered around the mobile home and an adjacent demolition dumpster, located about 100 feet from neighboring homes. The mobile home, located near the intersection of Fairview Street and Claremont Avenue (SR309), was discovered by a passing motorist. Responding were Quakake Fire Company, Hometown Fire Company, McAdoo Fire Company, Tamaqua and others. Neighbors reported seeing a vehicle flee from the scene. Rush Township police are still investigating. No more information was available as of press time.
