Tamaqua's several industries are conforming pretty well with the letter of the law. Their buildings and operations were inspected by Mrs. A. E. Leisenring , deputy inspector of factories, tenement houses, bake shops, work shops, mercantile establishments, etc. With quite a number she was not only favorably impressed, but inspired to pass compliments. The new shirt waist factory J. C. Fitzpatrick was admired for its new machinery and the numerous attachments for the convenience and protection of the operators.
