ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Volunteers with the Tamaqua Area Community Arts Center held an open stage event Thursday evening at the center. Members of the public were encouraged to sing or perform holiday songs and music during the event. Guests opted to place donations in containers reserved for each performer, half of which went to the center. Prizes were also given, to include a piano lesson from Perry Music Studio in Jim Thorpe, stage performance lesson by Jack Kulp in Tamaqua and half the voting pot. Dan Herzig, 20, of Tamaqua, sings a few holiday favorites.
