Organizations that purchase membership rates at Mauch Chunk Lake Park will see an increase during the 2013 season.

During the county commissioners' meeting on Thursday, the board voted to approve the Parks and Recreation Commission's recommendation to raise the organizational membership rates for next year. Membership rates for organizations have not been raised since 2000 for county groups and since 2006 for non-county groups.Commissioner Wayne Nothstein, chairman, explained that the rates are based on the number of people in the group.The new rates for county organizations are:• Up to 20: $120• 21-40: $180• 41-60: $300• 61-80: $420• 81-100: $540• 101-150: $750• 151-200: $1,000• 201-300: $1,250New rates for non-county organizations are:• Up to 20: $180• 21-40: $270• 41-60: $450• 61-80: $630• 81-100: $810• 101-150: $1,125• 151-200: $1,200• 201-300: $1,840In other matters, the commissioners voted to submit amendments to grants for the proposed Packerton Business Park.The first approval was for the submission of amendment 3 to the Local Share Account grant with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for phase I of the project. The amendment extends the agreement to Dec. 30, 2013.The second approval was for amendment 2 to the Local Share Account grant with the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority in the amount of $599,543 for phase II of the project. The amendment extends the agreement to Dec. 30, 2013.
