Six defendents were sentenced on criminal charges by three judges in the Schuylkill County Court.

Thomas Roy Fort, 48, Minersville, was placed by Judge John E Domalakes for three to 23 1/2 months in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), a probation program, with electronic monitoring, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance in Minersville. He begins serving his sentence on Monday, Dec. 17, in order for the probation department to set up the electronic monitoring.On a charge of delivery of 10.2 grams of a controlled substance received a concurrent sentence. Fort was also ordered to make restitution of $160 to the Minersville Police Department Drug Task Force, $291 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, pay $200 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $100 to and Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund. He had pleaded guilty to the charges.Shane Douglas Hibbler, 21, Pottsville, who was found guilty by a jury last October, was sentenced on a charge of possession with intent to deliver cocaine from an apartment on West Market Street, Pottsville, to serve three to six years in a state correctional facility, pay a fine of $10,000, pay $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Reginal Lab.On a charge of possession with intent to deliver marijuana received a sentence of 20 to 40 months and possession of drug paraphernalia to serve six to 12 months, with both sentences to run concurrent with the delivery charge. He also was given credit for serving 128 days in the county prison. Hibbler was cited by Pottsville Cpl. Dennis G. Wiederhold.Ronnie Jenkins, 32, an inmate at the state correctional facility in Ryan Township near Frackville, who was found guilty by a jury last October, was sentenced by Judge Domalakes on a charge of aggravated assault of a correctional officer to serve five to 10 years with the sentence to start at the conclusion of a sentence he is now serving.On a charge of aggravated harassment was sentenced to serve two and one-half to seven years added to his currrent sentence. He was cited by Trooper Edward Lizewski.Melissa Jo Ritzman, Coal Township, on a charge of retail theft at Family Dollar Store, Pottsville, was given credit by President Judge William E. Baldwin for serving 27 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months.On a charge of access device fraud must serve an additional 12 months on probation. On a charge of simple assault of a clerk in the store was sentenced to serve 12 months probation which runs concurrent with the other sentences and on a charge of flight to avoid apprehension was sentenced to serve six months probation also to run concurrent.On a charge of theft of a purse at a restaurant in the Fairlane Village Mall was sentenced to serve an additional 12 months on probation. She has a total of 47 months probation to be served. She was cited by Pottsville and state police. She had pleaded guilty to the charges.Joan Marie Trayah, 63, Pottsville, pleaded guilty and on a charge of striking a pedestrian with her vehicle and failing to stop to render aid was sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller to serve six to 23 months in the county prison, pay a fine of $1,000, and pay $50 to the CJEA fund. The sentence begins Monday, Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. She also must make restitution of $233,728.72 to the victim, Mrs. Ho Ching Lan.The accident occurred on Dec. 12, 2011, on South Mill Street, Saint Clair. On a summary charge of careless driving was fined $200, failing to yield to pedestrian walking on sidewalk fined $25 and failing to stop and give information and render aid fined $25 plus $125 costs. Trayah was cited by Saint Clair Sgt. William M. Dempsey.Stephen Smith, 41, Auburn, who was found guilty by a jury last October, was sentenced by Judge Miller on a charge of possession of cocaine to serve five to 10 years in a state correctional institution and received credit for serving 286 days in the county prison, fined $30,000, pay $100 to the SAE fund and $50 to CJEA fund.On a charge of possession with intent to deliver oxycodone was fined $10,000 and serve three to six years with the second to run consecutive to the cocaine charge.On charges of intent to deliver vicodin and xanax was sentenced to serve 18 to 36 months to run concurrent and on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was sentenced to serve six to 12 months concurrent. Smith was cited at his home by Trooper Troy S. Greenawald.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee when on probation or parole.
