PVE hosts a little Christmas cheer

A countdown of "Five, four, three, two, one" and the large Christmas tree became ablaze in bright colors of red, blue, green and yellow. And then the caroling began.

It was like a scene out of a movie with all the Whos of Whoville standing in a large circle around the tree. Instead, they were members of the Pleasant Valley Elementary School family singing in joy at the second annual Christmas Tree Lighting event.Joshua Krebs, PVE principal, said that last year's event brought about 300 people. This year, they had 650 ornament kits for the children to make tree ornaments and they were gone in the first 25 minutes."It's a great turnout. And it's a fun evening for the whole family," he said. There were wreaths, ornaments and baked goods for sale from Boy Scout troops and the PVE Sunshine Club. The money from the sales will go to PV families in need this holiday season.PVE was definitely "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree."
