Over two dozen firefighters, with their fire and tanker trucks, responded to 1439 Quakake Road in Packer Township after its homeowner thought their home was on fire. It was later determined to be burnt food in the oven. Heavy smoke and flames from an adjacent neighbor's scrap burn pile could be seen a few miles away. Some emergency responders stated they mistook the neighbor's home for the response. Fire police controlled traffic for the short duration. Fire companies from Schuylkill and Carbon County responded.
