The women's Bible study at St. John's Lutheran Church, Heights, will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Good Shepherd room of the church. The class meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Joan DeAcetis is the leader and they are studying the book of Acts.Nativity displayThe fifth annual nativity display will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8-9, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Heights, from noon to 5 p.m. The committee planning the event have said there will be approximately 400 creche related items on display this year. There is no charge to visit this yearly display of beautiful nativity items.Football banquetThe Jim Thorpe Touchdown Club will host its football banquet on Sunday, Dec. 9, from noon to 2 p.m. Football players were given information for their parents about the potluck dinner. The parents are asked to contact the booster club by today, Monday, Nov. 26, at

If you have any questions, please contact the secretary at the email address above.BloodmobileThe American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Memorial Park on Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 1-6 p.m. Donors must be 17 years of age and older.Toys for Tots registrationThere are still two weekends left to register children for the annual Toys for Tots campaign. Registration for Carbon County residents will take place at the Salem Bible Fellowship Church, 1105 Frederick's Grove Road, Lehighton, on Nov. 30, Dec. 1st, 7th. and 8th. No phone calls will be accepted.To ensure that a family is eligible for the program, there must be a letter from their church/clergy, proof of public assistance or proof of unemployment. Only parents or legal guardians are permitted to register children. The person registering the children must have ID for themselves. Legal guardian must have proof of guardianship. For each child being registered, a birth certificate is required. The age limit is 14 years, handicapped children are 16 years.Distribution will be Dec. 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
