Five area residents among 38 placed in special program

Five area residents were among 38 who were qualified by District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to be placed in the Schuylkill County's Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program.

The ARD program is reserved for first offenders who committed a non-violent criminal act to allow them to serve a period to clear their name. At a hearing Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program and imposed the following conditions. All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Joseph John Nacke, 48, of 126 Penn St., Tamaqua, driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs, assessed $500 top defray cost of the program, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), attend alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours community service, undergo a mental health evaluation, submit to random drug and alcohol screens, and driver's license is suspended 60 days. Nacke was cited last Dec. 29 by Tamaqua Patrolman Michael Hobbs.Joseph Nicholas Kamant, 19, of 531 E. Union St., Tamaqua, possession of drug paraphernalia, assessed $350, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and 10 hours community service. Kamant was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Peter Wysochanksy, last April 14 in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant.Zachary David Pisanchyn, 19, of 171 Sunndy Drive, MaryD, Schuylkill Township, possession f drug paraphernalia, assessed $350, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and 10 hours community service. He was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Peter Wysochansky, last April 14 in the parking lot at a fast food restaurant.Robert E. Keister, 26, of 142 E. Sherman St., McAdoo, DUI of alcohol and drugs, assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, receive outpatient treatment, 10 hours community service, submit to random drug and alcohol screens, and driver's license suspended 60 days. Keister was cited last Jan. 30 by Rush Township Patrolman Adam Sinton.Patricia Irene Boyke, 46, of 32 Bruno Avenue, McAdoo, giving false identification to police, assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and 10 hours community service. Boyke was cited last Dec. 19 by McAdoo Patrolman William Curilla.William Joseph Cresbo, 19, Pottsville, recklessly endangering Dennis McCullough, West Market Street, Pottsville; two years probation, assessed $350, $50 to CJEA fund, and 20 hours community service. On a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $100 and costs. Cresbo was cited last Nov. 11 by Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh.Catherine Marie Fordham, 29, Palo Alto, two counts each of acquired or obtained possession of controlled substance by misrepresentation from a nursing home where she was employed, possession of a controlled substance, theft by unlawful taking medication and receiving stolen property, two years probation, assessed $350, $50 to CJEA fund, 50 hours community service, and make restitution of $11.56 to Manor Care, Pottsville. Fordham was cited by Patrolman Charles B. Webber.Robert Allen Bartholomew, 35, Ashland, DUI of alcohol, 18 months probation, assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 60 days. On summary charges of careless driving and failing to notify of change of address, fined $50 plus $100 costs. He was cited last Nov. 11 by Ashland Patrolman Mark O'Hearn.Bryan Lee Noll II, 23, Orwigsburg, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, driver's license suspended 60 days, and make restitution of $76.94 to Health Network Lab. Noll was cited by Trooper John B. Carr last Feb. 21 after his swerved on Chestnut Road in West Brunswick Township to avoid a parked car and it rolled over landing on its roof.Daniel Michael Maisonet, 23, Pottsville, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering, and harassment of Menlaos Palles, Pottsville, assessed $350 assessment, $50 to CJEA fund, and 10 hours community service. On charge of disorderly conduct was fined $100 plus costs. He was cited last April 19 by Pottsville Patrolman Richard J. Pugh.Zachary Michael Williams, 19, Schuylkill Haven, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 90 days. On summary charge of underage drinking fined $25 plus $50 costs. Williams was cited by Trooper David Beam last March 11 when his vehicle failed to negotiate a a curve on Sweet Arrow Lake Road in Pine Grove Township and struck a tree.William Porras, 23, Pine Grove, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 60 days. On a charge of disregarding traffic lane was fined $ 25 plus $50 costs. Porras was cited by Trooper Michael Keating last March 10 when stopped on SR209 in Porter Township.James Joseph Cress Jr., 27, Girardville, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend safety school, 10 hours community service, and drivers license suspended 60 days. On summary charges of violating restrictions on alcohol beverages in car by having an open can of alcohol, operating a vehicle with an invalid inspection certificate and failing to wear a seat belt was fined $60 plus $150 in fines. Cress was cited by Trooper Michael Marinchak last March 9 when stopped on SR4030 in Butler Township.Charles Stanley Brilla III, 20, Pottsville, DUI of drugs and as a minor and recklessly endangering another person, two years probation, assessed $500, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, receive outpatient treatment, 30 hours community service, undergo mental health evaluation, and driver's license suspended 90 days. On a summary charge of reckless driving was fined $200 plus $50 costs. Brilla was cited last March 17 by Cass Township Sgt. Sargent Dennis Levan.Brandon Scott Yingst, 19, Newmanstown, two counts of corruption of minors by telling two youths to pour gasoline on East Mill Street, Pine Grove, and tossed lighted cigarette to set street on fire; and one count of criminal solicitation to commit disorderly conduct, two years probation, assessed $350, $50 to CJEA fund, and 25 hours community service. Yingst was cited last Dec. 17 by Cp. Corporal Beau Yarmus.Michelle Marie Goodman, 43, Cressona, simple assault of Fawn Marie Goodman, Cressona, assessed $350, $50 to CJEA fund, 10 hours community service, and undergo an Anger Management evaluation and comply with any recommended treatment. Goodman was cited last April 28 by Trooper Eric L. Reber.Jayson John Thompson, 21, Pottsville, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500 assessment, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 30 days. He was cited last May 5 by Minersville Patrolman Jason A. Klouser.Zachary Troy Specht, 20, Pottsville, possession of a small amount of marijuana, assessed $350, $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 10 hours community service. Specht was cited by Trooper Michael P. Becker last April 3 at North Vo-tech School, Frackville.Kyle Robert Newman, 25, Schuylkill Haven, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund,. $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and license suspended 30 days. Newman was cited last May 4 by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman David T. George.Natasia Robin Kukuk, 30. Williamstown, DUI of drugs, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $250 to SMC, attend safety school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 60 days. On summary charges of violating a stop sign and failure to notify police of accident at Main Street and SR209 in Porter Township, was fined $50 plus $100 costs. Kukuk was cited last March 30 by Corporal Steven Schmit, a state trooper.Brian Peter Madara, 23, Pottsville, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 60 days. Madara was cited last April 17 by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph J. Beam last June 15 when stopped on Pine Creek Drive in West Brunswick Township.Curtis Lee Dunn, 23, Bethel, theft of money contained in a bank envelope from the residence at 881 Catawissa Road, Walker Township, assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. Dunn was cited last Aug. 26 by Trooper Melissa A. Kyper.Melissa Lee Dodd, 30, Saint Clair, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and there is no suspension of driver's license. On a summary charge of stop sign violation was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Dodds was cited last April 29 by Minersville Patrolman Jacob A. Klouser.Keith Leonard Johnson, 30. Saint Clair, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 30 days. Johnson was cited last May 26 by Minersville Patrolman Richard C. Fritz was cited last April 21 by Mahanoy City Lt. John Kaczmarczyk.Joseph Edward Link, 35, Shenandoah, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 60 days. Link was cited by Trooper Joseph Aponick last May 26 when stopped at intersection of state routes 924 and 54 in Mahanoy Township.Matthew Paul Heintzelman, 33, Cressona, bad check, assessed $350, $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 10 hours community service. He was cited last July 23 by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman David T. George.Joshua A. Coward, 32, Ashland, defiant trespass by boarding train of Reading and Northern Railroad Company traveling from Ashland to Girardville, assessed $350, $50 to CJEA fund, undergo drug and alcohol evaluation, and perform 10 hours community service. Coward was cited by Patrolman Matthew Fredmonski, railroad police.Patricia M. Larkin, 34, Pottsville, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and no licenses suspension. Collins, 66, Wiconisco, DUI of alcohol, assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SCM, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 30 days. On a summary charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Collins was cited last March 11 by Tower City Sgt. John Boyer.Each defendant placed must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
