Congratulations are in order to the Pa. State Republican party for that flyer depicting Ron Rabenold as the Fox Guarding the Hen House. Depicting Rabenold as the reason for high property tax increases because he is a teacher and was a teacher union official.The reason for the drastic increase in our property taxes was the massive reduction in the state budget of around $880 million to Education. Local school districts had no choice and had to increase taxes at the local level.Governor Corbett's budget and Rep. Heffley's vote for that budget was the primary reason, not the teachers.The Pa. Republican state committee spun this in such a fashion that the general public believed the teachers are the reason for higher taxes.I spoke to a number of people who related they were voting for Rep. Heffley because they did not want to see a teacher elected to office.What a way to teach our children.
