Couple charged with theft

Tamaqua police have arrested a New Ringgold couple after they allegedly stole a dining room table and eight chairs from the woman's brother.

Officers were dispatched to 350 E. Union St. at 5:50 p.m. on Nov. 14 and spoke with resident Stephen Smolar. Smolar said his sister, Corey, 39, and her boyfriend, Frank Boslet, 56, had removed the table, chairs and some cash from his home. He observed the dining room set in the back of Boslet's truck. The couple was reportedly residing at 215 Ridge Cup Rd.West Penn Township police were contacted for assistance and later confirmed the dining room set was in the Smolar/Boslet home. Police Sgt. Richard Weaver and Officer Thomas Rodgers went to the home and arrested the couple as well as executing a search warrant for the furniture.Smolar and Boslet were arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, on charges of burglary. Each was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.The furniture was returned to Stephen Smolar.
