Four vehicle crash in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a four vehicle crash about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the intersection of state routes 901 and 209 in Branch Township, Schuylkill County, the Pottsville-Minersville road.

Troopers said Vincent A. Gargano, 75, of Saint Clair, was driving a 2011 Ford Ranger westbound on 901 and attempted to make a left turn onto 209 when he pulled into the path of a 1998 Buick Regal driven by Matthew E. Meyers, 25, of Pottsville, who was eastbound.After impact the Ranger spun clockwise and struck the driver's side of a 2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500 driven by Julian S. Yupcavage, 69, of Pottsville. Yupcavage was stopped at a stop sign on 209.After those collisions James L. Hooks, 37, of Highspire, Dauphin County, driving a 2012 Dodge Journey, was merging onto 901 from 209 and hit the front end bumper and debris from the Ranger.No one was injured in the crash. Troopers cited Gargano for vehicle turning left.Troopers also reported investigating a crash about 12:19 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, along Fearnot Road, in Hubley Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Klingerstown, was driving a 2000 Saturn L westbound and negotiating a right curve when the car began to fishtail. The car went onto the berm and struck a ditch.The teen was injured and taken to the SMC-South for treatment of injuries. Troopers cited the teen for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
