Andrew sees plenty time as a Eastern freshman

In her first season of collegiate field hockey with the Eastern University, Kaycie Andrew, of Lehighton, not only experienced a Freedom Conference Championship, she got a taste of the NCAA Division III playoffs too.

After her Eagles captured the conference championship with a 7-2 win over King's College, Andrew and her Eastern teammates advanced further into the postseason with an appearance in the Division III tournament.The Eagles opened with a 2-1 win over Franklin and Marshall in the First Round. The experience was short lived shortly afterward as Mary Washington ousted the Eagles teammates with a 3-1 setback in the Second Round.Andrew saw action in all 18 of Eastern's regular season games, while the Eagle freshman earned starts against Franklin and Marshall and King's College. She finished with six goals, one assists and 11 shots on goal. Andrew scored two goals in a 6-3 win over Swarthmore, while she recorded single goals against Widener, Stockton, Alvernia University and in the final game against Delaware Valley College.
