Are you looking forward to December and all the Christmas festivities? Here's another reason to look forward to month number 12.This December won't be your ordinary, everyday first month of winter December. Why?December, 2012 will have five Saturdays, five Sundays, and five Mondays (check your calendar). The Chinese call it the Money Bag, and apparently something like this only happens once every 824 years.Why the Money Bag? I'm not sure, but the person who sent me this said if I pass this information on that I'll receive money within four days. I think I'm in the vast majority when I say I'm glad it's over.BUMPER STICKER - CAUTION: I DRIVE LIKE YOU DO.It's too bad that Tamaqua, Marian and Northern Lehigh, three of the four area teams to make the football playoffs this season, won't be in action tonight after they were beaten in the opening rounds last weekend. But it was still a very exciting and productive season for all of them, one they'll remember for a long time. And, as of last night Pleasant Valley was still in the hunt for a PIAA District XI AAAA championship. Let's hope they kept it going.BUMPER STICKER - THIS IS AN UNMARKED CAR. Casting Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln was a great move.BUMPER STICKER - PLEASE DON'T WASH THIS CAR, IT'S A SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT.Philandering American General David Petraeus proves that being an American military hero doesn't necessarily make you an ideal husband.BUMPER STICKER - LIFE IS SO UNCERTAIN, SO EAT DESSERT FIRST.I think Veterans' Day, and all the festivities that go with it, is bigger now than it's ever been. But I missed the old Thanksgiving rivalries. Nothing will ever replace those memories.
