A Monroe County man is facing a cruelty to animals charge.

State police at Lehighton said Robert S. Benjamin, 35, of Henryville, Pocono Township, was charged following an incident on Sept. 15 about 11:30 p.m.Benjamin allegedly kicked a five-year-old Beagle mix female causing the dog to suffer injuries that required emergency veterinary care. Benjamin inflicted the injuries as a result of a verbal argument with his spouse, troopers said.
