Jim Thorpe police reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made following investigations.

Police said on July 30 about 2:19 a.m. officers were dispatched to SR309 for an erratic driver operating a Oldsmobile Alero. Police located the vehicle on Sixth St. and made a traffic stop.The driver was identified as Ayla B. Hoffman, 22, of 727 N. First St., Lehighton. She showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Police also observed signs of recent drug use and found her to have two acetaminophen and hydrocodone pills in her possession.Results of a blood test showed Hoffman was under the influence of a controlled substance-marijuana. She was charged with two counts of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a summary count of careless driving.On Sept. 8 about 9:57 p.m. police stopped Christine A. Gutowski, 29, of 1807 Arrowhead Trail, Vineland, N.J., for a traffic violation in the 1100 block of North St. (SR903). She was found to be under the influence and was taken to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test.The test results showed a .09BAC. She was charged with two counts of DUI and a summary charge of speeding.
