The Palmerton Area Historical Society's regular monthly meeting will be held as usual on Monday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Palmerton Library's second-floor gallery.

However, in place of the previously announced program, the speaker will be Marian Jones, who served as a nurse in General Patton's Third Army in Europe during World War II. The public is invited to attend, without cost or obligation.The current exhibit in the Feature Room of the Heritage Center, 410 Delaware Ave., celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Palmerton Band. Old uniforms, instruments, and photos of the members at various times in the past are on display.The center is open various hours from Wednesday through Saturday each week.
