A Monroe County man is facing assault on a police officer charges following a domestic incident. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 8 p.m. on Nov. 1 at 84 Pine Hill, Mount Pocono.

Police responded to that address to a report of a domestic assault. On scene the officers were told by the victim, who was not identified by police, that she had been assaulted by Frederick Barile, 39, of that address.When police attempted to take Barile into custody, he resisted and became combative. Barile, who was intoxicated, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault on police, terroristic threats, and simple assault.He was lodged in the county prison in Snydersville, pending arraignment.
