Driver injured in Schuylkill crash

A Schuylkill County driver sustained injuries in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:28 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, along SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail), in North Manheim Township. State police at Schuylkill Haven also reported on another crash that occurred Wednesday.

Troopers said Brandon M. Kemmerling, 26, of Cressona, was driving a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire northbound when his vehicle drifted off the east side of the road. The Sunfire struck an embankment and overturned onto its roof. It then slid north for about 75 feet before coming to rest in the northbound lane.Kemmerling was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment of moderate injuries. Troopers said Kemmerling was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.A crash occurred about 11:52 a.m. along Oak Grove Road, in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Kyrstin R. Wessner, 24, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo westbound when she failed to negotiate a left curve in the wet road, causing her to lose control.The Jeep traveled through the eastbound lane and into a gravel parking lot along the south berm. The Jeep then struck a building. Upon impact with the building the car spun counter-clockwise and came to rest facing north in the parking lot. A 2006 Chrysler 300 parked in the building was damaged by flying debris, troopers said.Wessner sustained a minor injury and was taken to the SMC-South Jackson St., for treatment. Two male juvenile passengers, ages 3 and 5, and in safety seats, were not injured.Troopers cited Wessner for driving too fast for conditions.
