Several area residents among 41 to plead guilty

Several area residents were among 42 defendants who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court recently and were sentenced by Judge Jacqueline Russell as follows:

Danny Todd Day, 49, of 514 Arlington St., Tamaqua, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, placed in Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) to serve six months on probation, fined $500, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to MCARE fund, complete alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. On a summary charge of driving while his license was suspended-DUI related, was placed under house arrest for 90 days with electronic monitoring and pay a daily fee of $12.
